The following is a list of the Plastic data for reinforced concrete, along with a brief description.

  • Elasto-plastic behaviour
Controls if the elasto-plastic behaviour can be considered or not for the selected structural shell/limit state.
  • Plastic hardening
Enabling "Plastic hardening" adjusts the stress-strain law, using a parabola-rectangle model to depict concrete's hardening phase, affecting deformations with minimal impact on the ultimate load. Without it, a linear elastic-perfectly plastic model is used.
  • Crushing
This determines whether the ultimate crushing strain of concrete is considered or not, by comparing it to an equivalent strain found with a bi-axial model.
  • Tension strength in plastic flow rule
It controls whether the concrete tension strength is taken into account or not in the flow rule.
  • Tension stiffening
It controls whether the concrete tension stiffening is taken into account after cracking or not. The tension stiffening model can also be selected here.
  • Reduced compression strength in case of lateral cracking
In case of lateral cracking, the concrete compression strength is reduced by applying a dynamic effectiveness factor. Different models for the effectiveness factor can be chosen.
  • Reduced transverse shear stiffness in case of cracking
Consideration of the reduction of transverse shear stiffness in case of cracking.
  • Ultimate strain in rebars
This determines whether the ultimate tearing strain of rebars is taken into account or not.
  • Reduced yield stress for compressed rebars
It controls whether a reduction factor is applied to the yield stress of compressed reinforcement. If enabled, the yield stress in the compression direction is multiplied by this factor.
  • Hardening in rebars
It controls whether hardening behavior is considered beyond the elastic part, as opposed to the perfectly plastic behavior.
